2007 Revaluation Info from Assessor’s Office

The Warren Assessor’s office is preparing for the 2007 Revaluation, which will be reflected in the 2008 tax bills. A full inspection of all buildings and structures in the Town of Warren is required to comply with Connecticut General Statutes and the Rules and Regulations of the Secretary of the Office of Policy and Management for the State of Connecticut.

A full inspection is defined as follows:
measuring or verifying the exterior dimensions and characteristics of a building or structure and entering and examining the interior of such building or structure in order to observe and record or verify the interior characteristics and improvements, provided permission to enter such interior is granted by the property owner or an adult occupant.

When an interior inspection is obtained or information is verified with the owner or occupant on site, a signature will be requested on the field card.

Representatives from the Warren Assessor’s office will begin inspections September 5, 2006.
The inspector will carry proper identification, which will be posted in the Town Clerk’s office
and in the Academy. Identification of all vehicles used for this purpose will be posted in the Town Clerk’s office and in the Academy, and will be registered with the State Police. The Assessor’s office encourages you to review the information posted to make yourself aware of the identity of the inspectors.
During a visit, the inspector will be walking around your property for an exterior inspection and knocking at your door for an interior inspection. The inspector will have your field card to assist in the collection and/or verification of data. Your cooperation will help facilitate this process. The Assessor’s office recognizes and regrets any inconvenience this may cause.
If you have any questions or concerns, please call the Assessor’s office. Office hours are on Wednesdays from 9:00am to 12:00 noon.
