Building Committee Update
The Warren Building Committee met on June 27, 2006 to review the latest drafts of plans for the new town office building. Members found the drawings to be near completion and offered only a few comments on the design and positioning of the building on the site off Cemetery Road.
Mr. Steven Whitaker of the firm of Ames and Whitaker warned the committee that costs for construction have risen sharply over the last year. He will work on cost estimates next in preparation for presentation to the town.
When the drawings and cost estimates are in final form, they will be posted on this site and made available at town hall. It is anticipated they will be available a week or two before a public hearing is scheduled and before the town is asked to vote on the project.
Work on the project will continue in July with test holes at the site and research on costs.
The next meeting of the committee is scheduled for July 26 at 7 pm.
