Please post an update on the status of the downtown land! I was shocked to read about my old hometown’s center hitting the block on eBay, but delighted to discover that the auction had been taken down after less than a week. I’m hoping it was because of an injunction or something, rather than an offer Cicio couldn’t refuse.

Melanie: you know as much as we do. I looked for the item on eBay and it was gone already.
However, even though I know that Mr. Cicio isn’t Mr. popular I don’t see anything wrong with selling property on eBay. It’s his right to do it. It’s not his right to call his property a “town” although anyone buying it would sort that out quickly.
I’m no fan of what he’s done to the general store but it’s easy to throw mud from the sidelines; none of us bought the property and did “the right thing” with it.
My wife and I kayak on Waramaug and we always comment that what’s great about the experience is that unlike other lakes we kayak on, there’s little “riffraff” on the lake. But, to some, WE are the riffraff! Uh oh, gotta be careful with those stones. Peace.
