August 3, 2004
Present were Jack Travers, Miriam Smith and Cal Tanner
Minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
Jack Travers stated that the playground at the Warren beach was completed and would be open for use once inspected by the Park and Recreation Commission.
A town meeting will be held on Friday August 27th at 8p.m. to discuss and vote on the Lake Waramaug Agreement with the state concerning public boat access. After lengthy discussions this agreement will allow 20 non residents per day use of the lake. There is concern if the 3 towns (Warren, Washington and Kent) reject this proposal, the state could allow unlimited use.
There is a Foundation for Community Health Assistance Fund. Anyone in need should contact Jack Travers.
Homeland Security update is to be alert to any suspicious happenings in town and contact the state police.
The roof to the library has been replaced. The work was completed by Brian Wilson.
Underground wires now connect an emergency generator to the fire house, town hall and academy.
The meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
